There are few things in life as satisfying as a simple gooey grilled cheese, and that’s why we’re so obsessed with it.

BUT with the addition of two more grown-up faves — Harissa and avocado — we think we’ve created the just-spicy-enough remix to your childhood go-to:

Harissa Avocado Grilled Cheese

1 avocado
your choice of bread
olive oil
1/2 cup Taleggio cheese or similar
1 container CAVA Harissa

Heat a medium skillet to medium heat. Brush two slices of bread with olive oil. Place one piece of bread, olive oil side down, in the pan and smear the other side with 2 tablespoons of Harissa. Top with a generous sprinkle of cheese, then a few slivers of avocado, then some more cheese. Place other slice of bread on top and brush with olive oil. Toast on each side until cheese has melted and bread is golden.
